Job Purpose

The Supplier Quality Specialist ensures the quality and reliability of materials, components, and services provided by suppliers.

This role focuses on evaluating supplier performance, conducting audits, New Parts Development (Mechanical Commodity) and driving continuous improvement initiatives to meet quality standards and support production needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
• New Product development - To perform various activities of Design Reviews, Technical feasibility with suppliers, Development Plans, Technical support to meet project timelines
• Conduct supplier audits, PPAP, APQP & identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to requirements.
• Investigate and resolve supplier-related quality issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions (PIR & CPM)
• To interact with peers of various functions like Purchasing, PD, Plant Quality, PDP.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to implement quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain and update supplier quality documentation and reports.
• Support the qualification and onboarding of new suppliers through evaluations and approvals.
• Speedy & aggressive in achieving organizational objectives on time.
  
  

Experience Required

• 10~15 years of experience in handling SQA / SQE in an automotive organization, managing the suppliers from Hydraulics & Proprietary commodities
• Skill sets, both in terms of leadership and functional competencies supported by varied experience.
• Should be well versed with Mechanical commodity parts & Machining technologies, Tooling/ Fixtures / Gauges Concept & review.
• Hands-on experience on measurement equipment & devices.
• New Part development process exposure for Proprietary & Hydraulics components
• Good knowledge and exposure to Surface coating & Heat Treatment processes.
• Ability to handle supplier escalations & performance management
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

Education/Qualifications (Min): Diploma / Graduate in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering
