Legal Counsel

Over the past years, Continia has experienced substantial growth, both in terms of revenue and organizational scale. This development has increased the complexity of our operations and, consequently, the need for a more mature and structured legal function.

We have therefore reached a stage where it is both necessary and timely to strengthen our legal capabilities. The purpose is to establish clear frameworks, processes, and governance across key legal areas, including contract management, internal policies, and ongoing legal advisory to the business.

About the role

As Legal Counsel, you will play a key role in the company’s contract lifecycle management, ensuring compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements and that templates and processes are fit for purpose. You will also provide general legal advice to the business and customers, including advice related to contract law and GDPR.

You will be part of a small legal and compliance team consisting of a Head of Legal & Compliance, a Senior Compliance Manager, and another Legal Counsel. The role therefore requires a high degree of accountability, as well as the ability to work in a structured and independent manner.

Key responsibilities

• Contract negotiation and management in relation to customer, vendor and partner contracts.
• General legal advice, notably in relation to contract law, GDPR and AI.
• Developing and management of policies, guidelines etc. supporting legal advice.
• Answering legal questions from partners and customers.
• Be a trusted business advisor both to external and internal facing departments.

About you

We are looking for a structured and self-driven legal professional who thrives in a growing and evolving organization.

You have a legal background and have experience with handling contracts from template and negotiation to signing and archiving.

You do not have to be an IT law expert, but you must have experience dealing with topics important for IT contracts, such as AI, GDPR and general knowledge of IT security. Further, you must be willing to gain high level knowledge of other areas of importance for Continia, so you can be a trusted business advisor.

You take ownership of your work and are comfortable operating independently, while also collaborating closely with stakeholders across the business. You bring a pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset and have the ability to balance legal considerations with commercial needs.

Ideally, you have experience from a SaaS and/or fintech environment, giving you an understanding of the legal aspects related to subscription-based business models, technology, and international operations.

Your qualifications:

• You hold a European degree in Law (cand.jur, cand.merc.jur or similar).
• You have 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably working with SaaS or other IT contracts.
• You are fluent in English, both spoken and written, and able to communicate clearly with colleagues and partners across countries.
• You work in a structured and detail-oriented manner
• You are proactive with the ability to independently drive initiatives and processes, and confidently engage with stakeholders across the organization

You are able to work from the office in Aalborg or Copenhagen at least three days a week.
