Supplier Quality Specialist

Supplier Qualification & Assessment:

• Conduct supplier audits, technical evaluations, and risk assessments.
• Assess and approve supplier capabilities based on technical requirements (e.g., metallurgy, coating, welding).

Supplier Development:

• Mentor and guide suppliers in improving quality and process efficiency.

Technical Problem-Solving:

• Act as SME in specialized disciplines, providing expertise on processes and defect prevention.
• Lead root cause analyses (RCA), corrective actions, and failure investigations.

Performance Monitoring:

• Track supplier performance metrics (e.g., defect rates, on-time delivery).
• Develop and implement supplier quality control plans and inspections.

Collaboration:

• Work with internal teams (engineering, procurement, manufacturing) to align supplier quality with company goals.
• Communicate technical requirements and quality expectations to suppliers.

Compliance & Documentation:

• Ensure supplier compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain records of audits, certifications, and supplier quality performance.

SME Focus Areas:

• Provide in-depth expertise in disciplines like metallurgy, coatings, welding, materials, or NDT.
• Advise on process optimization, material properties, and quality improvements.
