Job Description

CSA – Physical Education Chess Teacher

Purpose of Role

To train and mentor students in chess, developing strategic thinking, concentration, and problem-solving skills while supporting the school’s co-curricular and competitive programs.

Key Responsibilities

Coaching & Training

• Plan and conduct chess coaching sessions for students of different age groups.
• Teach fundamental and advanced concepts such as:
• Rules and basics of chess
• Openings, middle game strategies, and endgames
• Tactical patterns and positional play
• Develop structured training programs to improve student performance.
• Identify and nurture talented players for advanced training.
  

Student Development

• Promote logical thinking, patience, and decision-making skills.
• Encourage participation in chess activities and competitions.
• Monitor student progress and provide individual feedback.
  
  

Competition & Events

• Prepare students for inter-house, inter-school, and external chess tournaments.
• Organize selection trials and practice sessions.
• Accompany and guide students during competitions when required.
  
  

Activity & Club Management

• Organize chess clubs, workshops, and internal competitions.
• Promote interest in chess as a mind sport among students.
  
  

Administrative Responsibilities

• Maintain records of student participation and achievements.
• Assist in organizing school events and co-curricular activities.
• Follow school policies and guidelines.
