Job Title: Vice President – Fund Accounting GPO

About Business Line/Function

Investment Services Operations (ISO) sites within BNP Paribas – Securities Services business – Client Delivery. ISO provides fund administration, investment accounting, middle office outsourcing, investment reporting and performance, and regulatory reporting on a worldwide basis.

With more than +3000 HC spread across 21 locations and 7 main services, ISO represents a major Operational Domain of BNP Paribas Securities Services.

Global Fund Administration Operations has overall responsibility for the fund administration services provided to institutional clients by Securities. This covers a large range of solutions for all categories of funds and investment strategies invested in a broad range of financial instruments under all respective regulatory regimes.

Core operations activities include fund accounting, net asset values calculation, and financial reporting.

Position Purpose

GPO team within Fund administration is playing a strategic role pertaining to transformation, process re-modelling, and model definitions for Fund Administration teams. The team mainly supports vision of GFAC for strategic evolution of the business in terms of simplification and more secure operational processes.

The position directly reports to Head of Global Process Owner.

Responsibilities

The GPO team’s responsibilities are:

  • Will formalize the preferred processes across demographics.
  • One should identify, sponsor, and spearhead functional and non-functional transformation topics.
  • Is owner for defining the model definition & domain Strategy.
  • Is consulted in the context of possible New Deal supporting Business Development
  • Is consulted on all operational risks and changes linked to model evolution.
  • Responsible for overall processes globally. Also, ensure the harmonization, optimization and alignment of processes.
  • Structuring, designing the Target Operating Model for FA domain.
  • Responsible for organizing the workshops/meetings with managers, accountants, Jr& Sr accountants, experts to define the processes model for specific processes and document the overall model evolution in alignment with SMEs.
  • Complete alignment on the 2026-2030 vision for the domain.
  • Owning the Global Operating Model
  • Owning the Target Operating model
  • Owning strategic relationship with Product Client line teams to ensure adequacy of the GOM/TOM with product catalogue.
  • Representing the FA domain in all GPO dedicated instances at 2S and CIB level

The Global Process Owner team is a senior individual contributor supporting the achievement of the GPO objectives.

He/she is in charge of optimizing the organization and task allocation in his remit.

The Global process owner is in charge of maintaining the roadmap, budget and staffing of the missions in his perimeter

Direct Responsibilities

Functional & Domain

  • Assist in capturing and organizing queries from stakeholders, prioritizing responses, and directing questions to the right partners.
  • To conduct an in-depth analysis at all locations (if required, even at the junior level) for assigned topics by getting to the ground level to understand the roots of the process. This will provide a strong background before making any decisions and support informed decision-making.
  • Help identify opportunities for improvement in quality, reliability, timeliness, efficiency, and resilience.
  • Support the standardization of non-GOM locations.
  • Assist in proposing new technology/digital solutions for improving quality, reliability, timeliness, efficiency, and resilience.
  • Help facilitate harmonization and simplification of processes across locations.

Governance & Decision

  • Assist in leading the GOM/TOM design and formalization, and versioning GOM/TOM documents.
  • Help define global governance and processes, in collaboration with main partners.
  • Support the organization and leadership of process design and definition across MFGA locations globally.
  • Assist in contributing to decisions with Client line/Client dev for new/change in service offer, Operational, Transformation, BCM for any process change, post-audit GCC control, RFP/RFI related.
  • Help organize workshops with respective location spocs/heads to formalize the processes to define GOM/TOM.

Contributing Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing strong working relationships with a network of counterparts in other Securities Services Locations and senior Management.
  • Help ensure high-level communication network is established with all departments within the business group.
  • Support the preparation of standard GOM/TOM of processes and share with all locations.
  • Assist in maintaining the action log effectively with objectives, deliverables, next steps, issues, to clearly understood by GPO head and Global FA Head.
  • Help prepare for the monthly governance with all relevant inputs and share updates to global stakeholders, Global FA heads during the meeting.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • End to End exposure in Fund Accounting Stream with knowledge of Traditional funds.
  • Strong knowledge and quick grasping ability about the upstream teams like Middle office, Pricing, Corporate Action, TA etc.
  • Interest and Experience in FA Operational Transformation
  • Openness for feedback and adapt to the change as per the organization and management’s expectation.
  • Re-engineering of Legacy Processes and Challenge the status quo
  • Adequate understanding of FA System Data Flow
  • Be able to express ideas effectively in individual and group situations
  • Ability to work in an organized manner.

  • Always look for ways to improve services and processes.
  • Be able to adapt to markets and client’s evolution.

Specific Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Fund Accounting domain along with bachelor’s degree - in management, finance related field or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience in FA domain.
