Substation Automation - SCADA Engineer

The Opportunity

You will be a part of the GA Substation Automation engineering team. Your work involves mainly configuring of Substation Automation products (Like Micro SCADA family Products- SYS600, SYS600C, Historian, SDM600, DMS600) and communication protocols (IEC61850, IEC101, IC104, Modbus). You will be an individual contributor who would deliver the tasks as per the given inputs and when required need to work in coordination with other colleagues and should exhibit good collaborative skills to complete the task. In the absence of your Lead or in some cases, you will be required to interact with our counterparts to get/clarify queries. You may also interact with other departments like Primary, Project Management, and Production.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Preparation of System Architecture.
• Preparation of IO Signal list.
• Configuration of Micro SCADA family Products- SYS600, SYS600C, Historian, SDM600, DMS600) and communication protocols (IEC61850, IEC101, IC104, Modbus).
• Analyses customer specifications to have a clear picture of its requests and to prepare a reliable tech nical solution.
• Interaction with various cross-function teams like Primary, Project Management, and Production, when required.
• Self-reviewing the documents before submitting them to Lead Engineer.
• Generating Preliminary BOM by understanding the importance and consequences of releasing it.
• Preparation of complete Digital Control & Protection drawings as part of Digital Substation (with NCITs, MU’s, SAM600 modules, etc...).
• Adhering to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.
• Contribute to the knowledge base by creating KB articles and FAQs.
• Actively participate in training and improve product and process knowledge.\
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

• Bachelor’s degree in B.E / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Must have 5 -8 years of experience.
• Relevant Work Experience on MicroSCADA family Products- SYS600, SYS600C, Historian, SDM600, DMS600.
• Exposure to SYS600 engineering tools (View builder and Display builder) .
• Good understanding of Communication Protocols (IEC61850, IEC101, IC104, Modbus) .
• Willing to travel for site testing and commissioning activities.
• Familiarity with codes and applicable standards like IEC, IEEE, ANSI, etc...
• Ability to work in a team and maintain professionalism.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
