Job Description

A Strategic Buyer plays a pivotal role in procurement and supply chain management to ensure the organization secures quality products and services at competitive prices. The role involves developing long-term procurement strategies, building strong supplier relationships, and collaborating with various departments to align purchasing efforts with organizational goals. A Strategic Buyer must be adept at market analysis, negotiation, and contractual agreements to effectively manage the procurement process. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic purchasing plans in alignment with company goals.
  • Research and analyze market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Negotiate procurement contracts and agreements with suppliers effectively.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers and partners.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand and fulfill procurement needs.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality standards and timelines.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on product quality.
  • Conduct supplier audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance and reliability.
  • Oversee the purchasing process from supplier selection to order fulfillment.
  • Manage procurement budgets and report on financial metrics related to purchasing.
  • Implement procurement best practices and process improvements across the company.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with legal and company guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Strategic Buyer or similar procurement role.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Strong understanding of procurement laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to foster long-term supplier relationships.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools, including ERP systems.
