Senior SAP S 4 HANA Tax Consultant

Ford is building a dedicated MMP Tax team to provide ongoing support for the MMP program and related transformation initiatives. As MMP releases grow in scope and complexity, this role brings tax expertise to ensure accurate tax design, regulatory compliance, and effective integration across procure-to-receive and source-to-pay (PTR/STP) business processes and Ford's internal enterprise resource planning system (iERP).

Beyond release support, this role provides long-term operational ownership and subject-matter expertise, ensuring continuity, preserving institutional knowledge, and enabling timely responses to evolving business and regulatory requirements.

• Lead the MMP SAP S/4HANA Tax consulting team, overseeing delivery of tax-related project outcomes.
• Own SAP S/4HANA tax configuration, design, and customization decisions across the MMP program landscape, and assess the downstream impact of these decisions across all PDOs.
• Partner with other Ford SAP ERP program teams to define cross-functional tax impacts between MMP and Ford's internal ERP (iERP) system.
• Collaborate with MMP Business and Product Owners to prioritize tax-related requirements within the MMP Tax product backlog.
• Partner with Enterprise Architecture to design tax solutions that meet both business needs and technical standards.
• Work with Ford ERP teams and Global Tax teams to manage integration impacts between SAP S/4HANA and Vertex (Ford's tax determination software).
• Develop and maintain the release plan for MMP-impacted tax objects, aligned with the overall MMP program release schedule.
• Support development and execution of tax test scenarios across Functional Unit Testing (FUT), System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and application security standards across the MMP and iERP tax landscape.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with global and local business stakeholders.
• 10+ years of experience in SAP S/4HANA or ECC (SAP ERP Central Component) tax design, implementation, or support, with a focus on Materials Management (MM) and Finance/Controlling (FI/CO) configuration and customization.
• Demonstrated tax-domain experience within SAP environments (required).
• 1-2+ years of product management experience within SAP S/4 Tax, with a proven delivery track record. (To be confirmed — see note to hiring manager below.)
• Experience with SAP–Vertex tax engine integration strongly preferred.
• Proven experience on integration projects, partnering effectively with cross-functional interface teams.
• Strong understanding of tax-related business processes, including exposure to corporate tax/compliance functions.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills in a global, cross-functional environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes of business issues and align solutions to business drivers.
• Collaborative, solution-oriented approach with experience building and leading cross-functional teams.
