As a Senior Functional Consultant, you will play a key role in understanding client business requirements, configuring and validating system solutions, and providing consultative experience throughout implementation and post‑implementation phases. This role requires strong functional expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure successful and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with clients to understand business and payroll requirements and translate them into system configurations for Vista Payroll and other HCM modules.
- Conduct Kick-off and provide regular updates on Implementation status to project stakeholders
- Review all pre-sales documentation and flag deviations
- Responsible for accurate data and document collection, requirement gathering, blueprint documentation and sign-off as well as complete setup including access management.
- Ensure configurations meet defined compliance, quality, and audit standards
- Finalize all scheduling for monthly payroll, quarterly filing and year-end activities where applicable
- Review and make ready setup and data loads for initiation of testing and parallel run activities
- Provide a consultative approach to clients to ensure satisfaction and prevent escalations
- Coordinate all training requirements for client practitioners and end users
- Collaborate with internal teams including Product, PMO, Run Team, and Engineering
- Maintain accurate and timely updates in systems such as Project Place, Planview, Timesheets, and Opportunity Tracker
- Identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities proactively.
Skills Required
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Preferably in Commerce, Business Administration, Computer Applications, or related fields
Experience
- 4–8 years of experience in payroll / HR / workforce product implementations (adjust as required)
- Strong functional knowledge of payroll processes and system configurations
- Experience in client‑facing or consulting roles
- Proven ability to handle multiple clients or projects simultaneously
- High attention to detail with a strong governance and compliance mindset
- Experience working with project management and tracking tools
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
