As demand for our expertise continues to grow, we are looking for a Senior Digital Twin & Virtual Commissioning Engineer to join our team in Chennai, India.


In this role, you will work on complex engineering projects for customers globally and play a key role in developing virtual production environments that enable faster deployment, reduced commissioning time, and improved manufacturing performance.

Your Role

As a Senior Digital Twin & Virtual Commissioning Engineer, you will take ownership of Digital Twin and Virtual Commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle, from concept design and simulation modelling to testing, validation, and commissioning support.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing advanced Digital Twin models for production lines, machinery, and automated manufacturing systems.
  • Creating and maintaining simulation models in Visual Components.
  • Performing Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) validation activities as part of Virtual Commissioning projects.
  • Testing and validating control logic before physical commissioning.
  • Collaborating closely with automation engineers, software developers, and mechanical engineers across international project teams.
  • Supporting customers with simulation studies, virtual validation, and optimisation initiatives.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers where relevant.
  • Engaging directly with customers through technical discussions, workshops, and solution reviews, acting as a trusted advisor to ensure successful project delivery and alignment with business objectives


What You Bring

Mandatory Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience within Digital Twin, Virtual Commissioning, industrial automation, or simulation engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with Visual Components (must-have requirement).
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining Digital Twin and simulation models for manufacturing or automation projects.
  • Experience with PLC-controlled production systems and industrial automation.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, automation architectures, and commissioning methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.


Applications without significant Visual Components experience will not be considered.

In addition, experience with one or more of the following technologies is considered highly valuable:

  • Emulate3D
  • Siemens TIA Portal
  • OPC UA
  • Python
  • C#
  • Industrial robotics
  • Automated production systems
  • Virtual Commissioning methodologies


Educational Background

You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.


Equivalent practical experience combined with strong technical expertise in Digital Twin, Virtual Commissioning, and industrial automation will also be considered.
