The Marine department of COWI India is undertaking projects from both international and domestic markets and offers a comprehensive range of consulting services related to the development of Ports, Harbours, coastal protection structures, artificial islands and other waterfront developments.
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Coastal Modeller to join our team. The selected candidate will bring senior-level technical expertise to projects and will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance the Companys engineering practices in the Coastal Engineering field.
On day-to-day basis, you will be involved into:

  • Carrying out numerical modelling studies for coastal design and EIA related projects and produce high quality reports.
  • Supporting the project manager and project director with inputs related to coastal design and modelling
  • Supporting the PMs / Proposal managers by providing input in preparing technical and financial proposals for various opportunities in marine, Port, Harbour and Coastal engineering projects

Furthermore, you have:

  • Done MSc / MS / MTech degree in Civil or Coastal Engineering
  • At least 8+ years of experience in met-ocean studies, including statistical analysis of wind, waves, current and water levels.
  • Extensive experience in numerical modelling of hydrodynamics and waves, with a preference for MIKE21 Hydrodynamic (HD), Spectral Wave (SW), and Boussinesq Wave (BW) models.
  • Proficiency in assessing siltation through sedimentation studies (MIKE21 ST/MT) and coastal morphology evaluations using LITPACK.
  • Skills in conducting dispersion studies for effluent, brine, and excess temperatures, as well as evaluating recirculation between intakes and outfalls.
  • Experience in dredge spill dispersion assessment related to dredging and reclamation projects.
  • Competency in performing cyclone hindcast studies.
  • Proficiency in mooring analysis, preferably using MIKE MA.
  • Exceptional report-writing skills, with the ability to independently prepare comprehensive technical reports.
  • Proficiency in GIS and programming with MATLAB and Python.
