RESEARCH ENGINEER 1

Drive research, testing, and technical support activities in the Corrosion & Durability Laboratory to evaluate material performance, understand degradation mechanisms, and support product development, manufacturing, quality improvement, and customer problem resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute corrosion and durability testing programs, including NSS, cyclic corrosion, environmental exposure, and accelerated aging studies.
• Conduct failure analysis and root-cause investigations related to corrosion, coatings, and material degradation.
• Utilize analytical techniques such as Optical Microscopy, SEM/EDS, FTIR, coating thickness measurement, surface analysis, and electrochemical methods.
• Analyze and interpret test results to provide actionable insights for R&D, manufacturing, quality, and customer support teams.
• Support new product development, process optimization, and customer complaint resolution through data-driven technical recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and deliver timely project support.
• Maintain high standards of laboratory safety, data quality, documentation, and continuous improvement.
  
  

• M.Sc. with relevant industrial or research experience, or M.Tech./M.E./M.S. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Metallurgy, Corrosion Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related disciplines.
  
  

• Knowledge of corrosion science, coatings, and durability testing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in material characterization and failure analysis.
• Effective communication, teamwork, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced R&D environment.
