The Opportunity

You will be responsible for Functional type testing of AC protection functions for the HVDC stations as per the IEC standards using secondary injection kits and real time simulation environment and getting the certification done by the authorized external laboratories.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Supports global R&D projects with the implementation and verification of the latest technology development using the Hardware in loop environment of latest development studies.
  • Setting up and maintaining the lab environment for the different HVDC R&D projects.
  • Developing control and protection solutions encompassing full development cycle (design to delivery) for the future HVDC technologies, ongoing HVDC projects and other business units.
  • Developing test cases using EMT tools for the testing of HVDC control and protection functions in the virtual environment.
  • Developing automated test solutions for the AC protection functions for the HVDC projects.
  • Developing virtual unit testing solutions for the HVDC protection functions.
  • Supporting projects in resolving issues related to protection functions
  • Performing pre studies for the proposed control and protection ideas using EMT tools and identifying the right solutions.
  • Suggest new improvements, which really aid our business related to control and protection functions.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical & Electronics Engineering or Master Power Systems.
  • Should have 2 to 8 years of experience.
  • Knowledge in Testing and commissioning of substation control and protection system.
  • Should understand different control and protection schematics of a HV/LV electrical substation.
  • Any experience in an area of power system design and engineering is also welcome to apply for this role.
  • Basic knowledge about communication protocols like IEC61850, MODBUS etc.
  • Should have experience in using secondary test kits like Omicron, Doble etc.
  • Knowledge of PSCAD, MATLAB, or any other simulation software available for electric power system and control system and RTDS, Hyper Sim, or any other electric power system simulators is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge about HVDC control and protection system will be considered as a plus.
  • Experience with protection test case automation using scripts is an added advantage.
