Senior Associate – Odoo Developer (Python & JavaScript)

Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and self-driven Specialist – Odoo Developer to provide end-to-end support for the Odoo ERP ecosystem. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience developing and customizing Odoo modules using Python and JavaScript, integrating external systems, and supporting business-critical ERP implementations.

In this role, you will work closely with our South African client to develop new features, maintain existing modules, monitor system performance, and support data migration from legacy systems into Odoo.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain Odoo modules and applications.
• Build new business features using Python, JavaScript, XML, and the Odoo framework.
• Design, develop, and maintain custom workflows, reports, and business processes.
• Integrate Odoo with third-party applications and APIs.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot application issues.
• Perform debugging, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
• Design and execute data migration strategies from legacy systems into Odoo.
• Develop scripts and utilities for data extraction, transformation, validation, and import.
• Ensure application performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain development best practices.
• Collaborate with functional consultants, project managers, and client stakeholders.
• Prepare technical documentation and deployment guidelines.
  
  

• 2–3 years of experience in Odoo development.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Good knowledge of JavaScript, XML, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience customizing Odoo modules and business workflows.
• Strong understanding of PostgreSQL and database concepts.
• Experience developing REST APIs and integrating third-party applications.
• Experience with Git or other version control systems.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written English communication skills.
  
  

• Experience with Odoo Community and/or Enterprise editions.
• Experience migrating data from legacy ERP or business systems.
• Knowledge of Linux server administration and deployment.
• Exposure to Docker, CI/CD, or cloud-based deployments.
• Familiarity with accounting, inventory, manufacturing, CRM, or HR modules in Odoo.
• Experience working with international clients.
  
  

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Equivalent practical experience with a strong Odoo development portfolio will also be considered.
