Team Overview

 Seeking a senior Platform Operations Engineer to provide technical leadership across Windows, virtualization, storage, and hybrid cloud platforms. This role will play a key part in VMware to Nutanix transition, platform upgrades, automation initiatives, and operational governance. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Key Responsibilities

Role Overview And Core Responsibilities

• Lead administration and troubleshooting across Windows Server, VMware, and Nutanix platforms
• Support migration initiatives from VMware to Nutanix
• Drive VTM remediation tracking and closure coordination
• Own certificate lifecycle management ensuring service continuity
• Oversee vendor coordination for DC hardware replacements and technical escalations
• Manage enterprise storage and backup platforms (NetApp, Commvault or equivalent)
• Support Azure and GCP workloads from an infrastructure perspective
• Participate in and lead Major Incident troubleshooting and recovery actions
• Contribute to automation using PowerShell and operational efficiency improvements
• Provide technical guidance to P02 engineers and support operational decision making
• Participate in 24/7 support rotations and UK hours coverage as required
  
  

Required Skills

• Strong Windows infrastructure engineering experience
• Advanced VMware administration; Nutanix hands-on experience preferred
• Backup, storage, and DR concepts (NetApp, Commvault, enterprise backup solutions)
• Certificate and platform security management
• Hybrid cloud exposure (Azure / GCP)
• Strong vendor and stakeholder management skills

• Experience in large enterprise / GCC operations
