Job Description

As a Mid senior Level Manufacturing engineer - Composites, you will be responsible for design & optimization of manufacturing processes for CFRP parts, sub-assembly for eVTOL airframes prototype manufacturing & supporting in assembly integration. The candidate will be responsible for interacting with Manufacturing, QA, Structural design & other cross functional teams in realization of composites parts, sub-assembly and prove out.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for CFRP components using OOA prepreg systems.
  • Lead material qualification for certification prototypes with interactions with Certification & Airworthiness team.
  • Optimise facility including layout planning, utilities coordination, equipment selection, installation, and commissioning.
  • Specify, source, validate, and maintain capital equipment such as CNC routers, ovens, and bonding tools.
  • Program and operate CNC routers for precision trimming and drilling of composite structures.
  • Oversee bonding preparation processes, including surface treatment, adhesive application, and cure cycle optimization.
  • Manage Oven operations, including recipe development, cycle optimization, and maintenance coordination.
  • Apply expertise in composite curing processes—thermal profiles and material-specific requirements—to ensure optimal part quality and structural integrity.
  • Create and maintain detailed work instructions, process documentation, and tooling specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance with aerospace standards.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to improve yield, reduce scrap, and enhance overall process efficiency.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI), continuous improvement activities, and lean/Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Perform DFM/DFA assessment of part & tooling design to ensure manufacturability of airframe systems.
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint / Google suite & PLM
  • Adhere to project timelines and budgets and quality of output.
  • Basic knowledge on cost estimation & time study of project execution.
  • Basic knowledge on QMS, QC tools & Metrology
  • Basic knowledge on GD&T, Fits & assembly
  • Basic knowledge on PFD,PFMEA, Control plan

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or any related field.
  • Work experience in 4+ years in Manufacturing engineering of composites structures in the aerospace industry.
  • Familiarity with different types of composites materials & manufacturing processes, assembly & toolings is highly desirable.
