Come build the future with us. Join an award-winning company that isn’t just shaping the financial industry, but transforming it in ways that create meaningful, lasting impact for millions of people.

JOB SUMMARY

The Platform Engineering & Automation team at MX owns the foundational systems that determine how fast and safely every engineer at the company can build and ship software. The team operates across three high-leverage domains: developer experience and productivity tooling, CI/CD pipeline infrastructure, and the emerging AI platform layer that powers internal engineering workflows.

We need a leader who can translate business urgency into platform investments, close the gap between idea and production, and build a team that other engineers genuinely depend on and trust.

Success in this role directly improves engineering velocity, system reliability, and MX's ability to bring AI-powered experiences to market faster than the competition.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own and execute the developer productivity roadmap - covering local dev environments, internal tooling, build systems, and onboarding - to measurably reduce friction and increase engineering throughput.
  • Design, operate, and continuously improve the company-wide CI/CD platform, driving reductions in build time, pipeline flakiness, and deployment risk across all product engineering teams.
  • Build and scale a shared AI platform - SDLC for AI agentic solutions, experimentation frameworks, and observability - to accelerate AI feature delivery across product lines.
  • Establish and track engineering health metrics (DORA metrics, build times, cycle time, developer satisfaction) and use data to prioritise platform investments.
  • Build and communicate a multi-quarter platform roadmap, translating engineering investments into business outcomes for senior leadership.
  • Own and evolve the internal service catalog - defining service standards, ownership models, dependency mapping, and discoverability - to reduce duplication and improve operational clarity across engineering.
  • Lead change management and risk analysis processes for platform and infrastructure changes, establishing risk classification frameworks, rollback strategies, and stakeholder communication standards that minimise production impact.
  • Design and expand release gate policies - automated quality, security, and compliance checks that serve as the final control layer before production deployment - ensuring releases meet MX's reliability and regulatory standards.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (MUST-HAVE)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12+ years of overall software engineering experience, Demonstrated experience owning and operating CI/CD systems or developer tooling at scale (hundreds of engineers or large monorepo environments).
  • 4+ years of experience managing/leading engineers directly - including hiring, performance management, and career development.
  • Proven ability to define platform strategy and deliver against a roadmap with measurable outcomes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience designing or operating AI/ML serving infrastructure, LLM integration platforms, or ML experimentation frameworks in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with fintech, SaaS, or regulated-industry engineering constraints — particularly around data security, audit trails, and release governance.
  • Exposure to platform-as-a-product thinking - including internal developer platforms, self-service tooling adoption, and platform cost attribution.
  • Experience working across geographically distributed teams and driving cross-timezone collaboration practices.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

Compensation

The expected earnings for this role could be comprised of a base salary and other forms of cash compensation, such as bonus or commissions as applicable.

This pay range is just one component of MX’s total rewards package. MX takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including job and level they are hired into, location, skillset, peer compensation.

  • Please note applicants applying for this position must have the legal right to work in India without the need for sponsorship. We are unable to provide work sponsorship for this role, and candidates should be able to verify their eligibility to work in the country independently. Proof of eligibility to work in India will be required as part of the hiring process.

Work Environment

In this role, a significant aspect of the job involves working in the office for a standard 40-hour workweek. We believe that the collaborative nature of our work and the face-to-face interactions among team members are essential for fostering a dynamic and productive work environment. Being present in the office enables seamless communication, facilitates quick decision-making, and encourages spontaneous collaboration that contributes to the overall success of our projects. We value the synergy that comes from having our team members physically together, allowing for immediate problem-solving, idea exchange, and team building.
