Job Description

Position Title- Industry Consultant – Automotive

City- Chennai/Pune/Gurgaon

The Industry Consultant – Automotive is responsible for driving business growth within the automotive segment by developing and executing industry strategies. The role involves building long-term relationships with key stakeholders such as End Users, EPCs, OEMs, consultants, and technology partners and supporting sales teams in identifying, developing, and closing opportunities. The incumbent will collaborate closely with Sales, Business Units, and Global Teams to develop and execute industry strategies and deliver sustainable growth.

You will report to the Industry Leader.

Your Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Develop and execute annual industry business plans, both short-term and long-term
  • Identify portfolio gaps and provide feedback to regional and global teams
  • Define and implement go-to-market strategies aligned with domain expertise
  • Conduct business outcome discussions with C-level stakeholders
  • Build and maintain a strong sales funnel for core and transformational solutions

Execution

  • Position solutions as preferred offerings in the automotive segment
  • Engage ecosystem partners to deliver end-to-end business outcomes
  • Track and manage sales pipeline on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Support sales teams by articulating the best industry practices and compliance requirements
  • Lead customer engagements such as plant walkthroughs
  • Drive marketing campaigns and product initiatives
  • Ensure strong communication across all stakeholders during key pursuits

Stakeholder and Team Leadership

  • Collaborate across functions to achieve business targets
  • Mentor and guide sales and account teams through influence
  • Strengthen organizational capability via domain expertise and commercial insights

The Essentials - You Will Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is mandatory, MBA preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial automation or digital solutions within automotive or OEM ecosystem
  • Strong domain expertise in automotive industry
  • Experience in selling or marketing complex automation and digital solutions
  • Strong analytical and business planning skills
  • Experience working in global, matrix organizations
  • Strong business and commercial acumen
  • Strategic thinking and execution capability
  • Ability to manage large, complex, long-cycle deals
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Ability to align cross-functional teams
