The Service Engineer – HVAC (Chillers) is responsible for installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems, with a focus on chiller units (air-cooled and water-cooled). The role ensures optimal performance, efficiency, and reliability of cooling systems at client sites.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning
Install and commission HVAC systems, including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and AHUs.
Ensure proper setup as per manufacturer guidelines and project specifications.
Perform system testing and validation before handover.
Service & Maintenance
Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance of chiller systems and HVAC equipment.
Carry out routine inspections to identify potential issues.
Maintain service logs and reports of all maintenance activities.
Troubleshooting & Repairs
Diagnose faults in chiller systems (electrical, mechanical, and control systems).
Repair or replace defective components such as compressors, motors, valves, and sensors.
Ensure minimum downtime and quick resolution of breakdowns.
Customer Support
Respond to service requests in a timely and professional manner.
Provide technical guidance and support to customers.
Maintain strong relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare service reports, maintenance checklists, and performance records.
Update service history and ensure proper documentation of all activities.
Follow compliance and safety standards while working.
Compliance & Safety
Adhere to safety norms and industry standards (e.g., HVAC regulations, electrical safety).
Ensure proper handling of refrigerants and compliance with environmental guidelines.
Educational Qualifications
Required Qualifications & Skills
Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or HVAC Engineering (or related field).
Experience
6 years of experience in HVAC service, especially chiller systems.
Hands-on experience with air-cooled and water-cooled chillers preferred.
Technical Skills
Knowledge of refrigeration cycles, compressors, and chilled water systems.
Familiarity with PLC controls, BMS systems, and electrical panels.
Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
Soft Skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Good communication and customer-handling skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Preferred Skills (Optional)
Experience with leading HVAC brands (e.g., Carrier, Trane, Daikin, York).
Certification in HVAC or refrigeration systems (if applicable).
Experience in industrial or commercial HVAC projects.
