Job Description

The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring that cleanliness standards are maintained consistently throughout the facility. This role requires an individual who is detail-oriented and has a keen eye for cleanliness, as well as excellent leadership skills to effectively manage a team of housekeeping staff. The successful candidate will ensure that all areas under their supervision meet hygiene standards and exceed guest expectations. They will also be responsible for implementing structured cleaning schedules, maintaining inventory supplies, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations. The Housekeeping Supervisor will liaise with management to discuss cleaning needs, budgets, and staff performance while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the housekeeping staff, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Inspect rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness meets the required standards consistently.
  • Train, coach, and mentor housekeeping staff to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Develop and implement detailed cleaning schedules and workflows to optimize staff productivity.
  • Manage inventory and ordering of cleaning supplies, ensuring stocks are adequate at all times.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints or issues regarding housekeeping services promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of staff attendance, performance, and disciplinary matters.
  • Collaborate with management to update cleaning practices and standards when necessary.
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding of new housekeeping staff members.
  • Coordinate with other departments to arrange special cleaning tasks or projects as needed.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates, policies, and feedback effectively.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification required, additional certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in a housekeeping supervisory role, with strong leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Thorough knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemical safety procedures.
  • Ability to multitask and handle various tasks with a focus on prioritization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve staff or guest issues effectively.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Proficient in using computer systems for scheduling and inventory management.
