VPU Context
The WBG Budget and Procurement Vice Presidency (WBP) provides trusted advice and services in resource management, strategic planning, budget execution, and corporate procurement management. WBP helps the World Bank Group align its resources with strategic priorities and manage them effectively. WBP is organized into five departments: IBRD/IDA Budget Partners for Regional Units (WBPRU), WBG Budget Partners for Corporate and Knowledge Units (WBPCU), WBG Centers of Excellence (WBPCE), WBG Corporate Procurement (WBPCP), IFC & MIGA Budget Partners (CSRDR).

Duties
WBPCH, part of WBPCE, is a centralized, tech-forward center for delivering end-to-end automated processes including transaction support, building and maintaining budget tools , internal controls, business processing and analytics, and systems stewardship across IBRD, IFC, and MIGA.
Duties and accountabilities:
WBPCH team is looking to recruit a Finance Associate. Finance Associate is expected to have a good understanding of business finance analytics, process and data management, controls; able to support decision-making through the provision of timely, fit for purpose information on the management of financial resources across all funding sources and comfortable using Power tools, AI and emerging technologies. They are expected to be fully proficient in cost analysis and monitoring, research, interpretation and summarization of data in a timely and accurate manner to ensure that the day-to-day WBP work program is handled in an effective and efficient manner. In line with the competencies listed below, Finance Associates are expected to be proficient in the core WBP systems, processes and policies. They are expected to work with the senior members of the team, internal stakeholders and external clients. All WBP staff are expected to be fungible and able to work across different assignments over time depending on business needs and professional development objectives.
In addition to the above work program, the team is also looking for the candidate to support the Manager(s) and the unit with a full range of administrative services to enable it to deliver its functions and mandate. In line with that, the candidate is expected to be proactive and work independently on various activities, seeking guidance from the Manager as needed.

Selection Criteria
Attention: Preference will be given to local talent, that is, applicants that are authorized to work in the duty station for any employer. Internal applicants may apply per existing guidelines.
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, Finance, Management, or related discipline OR Non-Finance Bachelor’s + advanced Diploma in accounting or equivalent (e.g., CIMA, ACCA)
- Minimum Years of Relevant Experience: 1 year in a relevant field, e.g. accounting, finance, Business.
- Strong understanding of business-critical accounting and reporting processes and applications, including SAP, AO, BPC/Jedox
- Track record of supporting business decision making through relevant analytics and data models
- Expertise with CRM tools, enhanced by practical experience in NLP, automated text workflows, and AI-powered chatbot content generation
- Initiative, Strong interpersonal skills, and Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Technical experience in some of the following disciplines:
- Budget monitoring and reporting tools, data modelling, analytics, visualization
- Business process analysis, design and optimization
- Internal controls and compliance
- Advisory services and stakeholder engagement
Business System Skills
- Participate in the evaluation of emerging technologies.
- Reviews business requirements and determines where support is needed relative to existing technical systems design
- Analyzes workflows to find bottlenecks, rework, and handoffs to propose improvements and monitors performance.
- Configuration and testing support for basic automation (RPA, OCR, Power Platform, Chatbot) and tests against requirements and controls.
- Proficiency in Data Analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau with Python and Excel.
- Proficiency in crafting precise and well-structured prompts to extract far more value from AI assistants.
- Familiarity with AI assisted decision making like Power BI Copilot, Excel AI features.
