The Facility Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and executing building and infrastructure requirements for new manufacturing programmes. You will manage contractors, support production equipment installation, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Facility Planning & Project Execution
Lead facility readiness for new programmes covering safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
Coordinate layout planning with engineering teams to optimise plant space utilisation.
Manage relocation and modification of existing facilities.
Equipment & Infrastructure Setup
Oversee design, procurement, and installation of:
Dust and mist extraction systems
Coolant filtration and distribution
Industrial ducting and piping systems
Support installation of production equipment through commissioning and handover.
Production Support Areas
Set up shopfloor support facilities such as:
Rest areas and offices
Communication and control rooms
Sanitation and operational support stations
Contractor & Stakeholder Management
Coordinate with contractors, architects, and internal teams.
Ensure construction and installation activities meet specifications and timelines.
Monitor vendor performance and compliance.
Cost & Budget Management
Track project costs and budgets across facility components.
Support cost estimation, approvals, and invoice validation.
Maintain cost data for infrastructure and installation activities.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
Monitor contractor safety practices and risk assessments.
Support environmental and compliance audits.
Reporting & Digital Tools
Track project progress using programme management tools.
Provide periodic updates to stakeholders.
Support digital modelling (e.g., BIM, laser scanning) for design and execution.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline (Diploma with relevant experience may be considered)
Experience
5+ years (Degree) or 10+ years (Diploma) in:
Facility engineering or plant engineering
Manufacturing or industrial project environments
Technical Skills
Facility systems (HVAC, piping, utilities, coolant systems)
Project execution and contractor management
Cost tracking and budgeting
Familiarity with tools such as BIM, SAP/ARIBA (or equivalent)
Soft Skills
Strong cross-functional collaboration
Stakeholder communication
Problem-solving and decision-making
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
