As a Transformer design engineer, you will be part of Indian Operation Center, India (INOPC-PG), aiming to develop a global value chain, where key business activities, resources and expertise are shared across geographic boundaries to optimize value for HE customers across markets. It provides high quality engineering and commissioning support to Business Units and Center of Excellence across the Hitachi Energy world. This is an important step from HEs Global Footprint strategy.
How You’ll Make An Impact
Participate in an international Engineering & Development team focused on Distribution Transformer (DT) design optimization.
Optimize distribution transformer designs for multiple global manufacturing locations, ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and design consistency.
Continuously validate, refine, and streamline existing algorithms used in the Design Optimization System to enhance performance and accuracy.
Support design engineers effectively using design optimization tools, including training, guidance, and troubleshooting.
Collaborate closely with Design Optimization Systems teams and other R&D groups to advance design system capabilities and automation initiatives.
Contribute to global development and optimization projects, fostering a positive teamwork culture and strong cross-functional networks.

Your Background
Bachelors or masters in electrical discipline (master’s preferred).
5–10 years of experience in Liquid filled transformer electrical design, with focus on optimization and raw‑material cost reduction.
Experience developing optimization tools for electrical equipment (advantage). Proven academic or professional background in optimizing electrotechnical devices.
Strong understanding of transformer electrical design Principles and transformer performance design margins.
Familiarity with optimization software (strong plus). Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Data handling and database skills (SQL, Power BI) are a plus. Ability to collaborate with technical teams across the globe.
Team‑building and networking capabilities. Organized, thorough, and able to work independently when needed.
Open, collaborative mindset with willingness to share ideas. Quick learner with the ability to master new tools and technical domains.
Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
