Design Engineer - PLM

Position Title: PLM Engineer

Department: Product Development

Reports To: Director – Product Development

Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India

We are seeking a PLM Engineer with 2–5 years of experience in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Siemens NX, and Teamcenter to support global product development activities. The role involves 3D/2D modeling, Sheet Metals, drawing, plastic and casting component design, engineering change management, product data maintenance, and collaboration with global engineering teams for connector and cable assembly products.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage product data, BOMs, and documentation in Teamcenter.
• Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings using Siemens NX.
• Support Change Requests (CR), ECN/ECR, and product lifecycle management processes.
• Work closely with global design teams to execute design changes and product updates.
• Apply GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and mechanical engineering principles.
• Ensure designs comply with company and industry standards.
• Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and KPI tracking.
• Support continuous improvement and product maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in PLM, Siemens NX, and Teamcenter.
• Good understanding of engineering change management processes.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and mechanical design fundamentals.
• Strong communication skills and experience working with global teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in connector, cable assembly, or wiring harness design.
• Knowledge of IP sealing concepts and product development processes.
