As a Cashier, you will be the face of our company, providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth, efficient operations at the point of sale. You will handle transactions, assist customers with inquiries, and manage cash registers effectively. Working as a cashier requires a balance of technical skills, such as handling payment processing systems, and soft skills, like communication and problem-solving. You will be responsible for maintaining the cash register's accuracy and ensuring each transaction is accurately tracked and documented. This role is vital for creating a positive shopping experience, building customer loyalty, and maintaining the overall financial integrity of the store.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, courteous service.
• Process customer transactions, including cash, checks, and credit sales.
• Ensure accuracy in cash drawers and balance them effectively at shift end.
• Answer customer’s questions and resolve any issues promptly and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area at all times.
• Promote current offers and recommend store products to enhance sales.
• Handle returns and exchanges following store policies and procedures.
• Ensure all transactions are accurately entered into the store's system.
• Assist with inventory counts and restocking of products when required.
• Follow all store security and safety procedures to prevent loss.
• Provide assistance with bagging items and maintaining a fast checkout process.
• Report discrepancies, suspicious activities, or theft to management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred for this role.
• Prior experience in retail or customer service is an asset.
• Strong mathematical skills for handling cash and processing transactions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with customers.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment is essential.
