Role: Specialist - Business Analyst

YOE: 7 to 10 Years

Location: Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune

About The Job

We are seeking a Specialist Business Analyst with strong expertise in the Medicaid healthcare domain. The role requires deep functional understanding of Provider, Claims, or Financials modules within healthcare systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to analyze business needs, document requirements, and translate complex processes into actionable functional specifications.

You will also guide teams through requirement clarification, documentation, compliance alignment, and solution design while ensuring adherence to Medicaid and payer regulatory standards.

What You Will Do

  • Analyze, document, and validate business requirements for Medicaid programs and workflows.
  • Work with Product Owners, Architects, and Technical Teams to create clear functional specifications and acceptance criteria.
  • Document current-state and future-state workflows across Provider, Claims, or Financials modules.
  • Create BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and process flow diagrams aligned with Agile practices.
  • Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and UAT activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Medicaid regulations, payer standards, and system configuration best practices.
  • Support impact assessments, data validation, and release implementation processes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in cross-functional discussions and solution-design reviews.

Who You Are (Education & Experience)

  • Experience as a Business Analyst within the Medicaid healthcare domain.
  • Hands-on exposure to Provider, Claims, or Financials modules.
  • Strong experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams.
  • Preferred certifications include Agile (CSM/PSM), Business Analysis (CBAP/CCBA), or Health Informatics (CAHIMS/CPHIMS).

Technical Skills

Job Requirements and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in creating business and functional documentation (BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows).
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as JIRA, Rally, Trello, Confluence, and Visio.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards including HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, and SNOMED CT.
  • Understanding of EMR/EHR systems and regulatory frameworks (HIPAA, CMS).
  • Experience with State Medicaid systems, MMIS modernization, or payer interoperability initiatives.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced Agile delivery environments.
