BTS Tax Operate - Tax Manager

Summary

Position Summary

The Manager will serve as a key engagement management lead across a portfolio of complex U.S. domestic and global tax engagements, with accountability for day-to-day delivery management, governance, execution, and stakeholder communication.

This role will drive engagement planning, operational visibility, issue resolution, and cross-functional coordination across U.S. and global tax compliance and related tax accounting activities to help deliver a consistent, scalable, and high-quality client and internal experience.

Work you'll do

As a Tax Manager, BTS Operate on the BTS Tax Operate team, you will be responsible for:

• Lead day-to-day engagement governance and project management across a portfolio of U.S. domestic and global tax engagements.
• Manage engagement workplans, service delivery milestones, dashboards, reporting routines, and stakeholder communications to support disciplined execution.
• Coordinate tax compliance and tax accounting activities, including document and data requests, workpaper tracking, review readiness, filing deliverables, and platform-based delivery tracking.
• Drive issue resolution, risk management, scope management, and engagement economics, including staffing plans, budget tracking, fee forecasting, realization monitoring, invoicing support, and follow-up on variances.
• Support onboarding, transitions, scope changes, and pursuit activities, including kickoff coordination, stakeholder alignment, Statement of Work support, delivery setup, and collaboration across Deloitte teams and member firms.
  
  

The team

BTS Tax Operate supports tax engagement delivery through structured program management, operational coordination, and governance across complex tax compliance and reporting environments. The team works closely with client stakeholders, tax service teams, and cross-functional Deloitte professionals to drive visibility, consistency, and execution quality across U.S. and global engagements. This role sits within a collaborative environment focused on scalable delivery, disciplined processes, and continuous improvement.

Location: Hyderabad, Gurugram, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru

Shift Timings: 11 AM to 8 PM

Qualifications

Required:

• 8+ years of experience in engagement management, project management office leadership, tax operations, or service delivery roles
• Experience supporting U.S. corporate income tax compliance, investment management tax compliance, tax accounting and provision, or global tax compliance and reporting
• Experience managing complex engagements involving planning, staffing, budgeting, status reporting, risk management, delivery coordination, and client communication
• Experience using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and data or reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Alteryx
• Experience working with tax compliance, tax accounting, workflow, or AI-enabled productivity tools
