We’re seeking a future team member for the Associate, Back-End Engineer II to join our Data Solutions and Services team. This role is located in Chennai
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- In this role you will be embedded within our Data Governance Engineering team, working directly with BNY’s enterprise-grade data governance tools and our in-house BNY Eliza Platform to help build the next generation of governance offerings for the enterprise
- Design, develop, and maintain Collibra workflows, integrations, and customizations.
- Build and optimize ETL pipelines to ensure seamless, high-quality data flow across systems.
- Leverage Python and Java to implement automation scripts, API connectors, and Collibra extensions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, driving continuous improvement.
- Support data governance initiatives by enabling data cataloging, lineage visualization, and policy enforcement.
- Document technical designs, processes, and standards for the team.
About The Data Governance Engineering Team
- You’ll collaborate daily with data stewards, architects and business partners to translate governance requirements into robust, scalable solutions.
- You will work hands-on with Collibra and other leading data governance platforms, as well as our proprietary BNY Eliza Platform, to design and extend workflows, connectors, and automation that enforce data quality, lineage, and policy at scale.
- You’ll help shape the roadmap for our governance tooling, ensuring our solutions evolve with emerging best practices and enterprise needs.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a Collibra Developer or in a similar data governance engineering role.
- Proven expertise in Collibra platform development and administration.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or Java.
- Solid experience with ETL tools and data integration patterns.
- Deep understanding of data governance concepts, frameworks, and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving ability and strong communication skills.
- A collaborative mindset and passion for working in agile, cross-functional teams.
