Associate Accountant

Job Summary

The Associate Accountant is responsible for supporting accounting policies and procedures related to the maintenance of an accurate general ledger, analysis of balance sheet accounts, and management financial reporting. Working under direct supervision, the incumbent performs routine accounting assignments, develops core job competencies and resolves standard accounting issues in accordance with established procedures.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in an accounting environment.
  • Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform timely bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts and platforms across global operations.
  • Work collaboratively with Treasury, HR, Payroll, Cash Applications, and other business functions to resolve reconciling items.
  • Ensure the accurate reconciliation of designated bank accounts in accordance with company accounting policies and procedures.
  • Utilize the company's accounting reconciliation tool to complete and maintain reconciliations.
  • Identify, investigate, and report discrepancies, unusual transactions or potential fraudulent activities promptly.
  • Support the maintenance of accurate financial records and balance sheet accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements and FCPA regulations.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives and support accounting operations as required.

Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in an accounting environment.
  • Strong accounting knowledge with extensive hands-on experience in bank reconciliations.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve reconciliation differences accurately and within established timelines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems, processes and tools.
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure while consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams and build positive working relationships.
