Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

  • Develop detailed CATIA DieFace models specifically for Body in White (BIW) components, ensuring precision to facilitate subsequent manufacturing operations and quality adherence.
  • Conduct comprehensive AutoForm incremental forming simulations to analyse material behavior during the stamping process, implementing springback compensation techniques to optimize panel conformity.
  • Perform in-depth surface analysis on Class A panels to ensure superior aesthetic finish and dimensional accuracy, collaborating closely with design teams to address any deviations.
  • Execute progressive panel simulation studies encompassing multiple stamping stages to validate process feasibility and enhance production efficiency.
  • Analyse and validate material models to ensure accurate representation of mechanical and physical properties critical to forming and manufacturing processes.
  • Plan and develop 3D process flows within CATIA, integrating tooling, sequencing, and process parameters for streamlined manufacturing execution.
  • Collaborate in simultaneous and concurrent engineering initiatives, working across cross-functional teams to drive design for manufacturability and reduce lead times.
  • Conduct Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) focusing on manufacturing processes to identify risk factors and implement robust mitigation strategies, thereby enhancing product quality and consistency.
  • Carry out comprehensive feasibility studies to assess new manufacturing techniques, tooling concepts, and process improvements with a focus on cost-effectiveness and reliability.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers within the stamping and simulation departments to foster knowledge sharing and talent development.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of simulation results, design changes, and process adjustments ensuring transparent communication with stakeholders and compliance with company standards.
