Work you'll do

In this role, you will contribute to SAP-based tax technology solutions that combine ABAP development, SAP S/4HANA capabilities, and emerging SAP Business AI tools. You will work across business and technology teams to build scalable solutions that support modern tax and legal requirements while improving quality, efficiency, and user experience.

Key Responsibilities

As an ABAP + Workflow Developer on the Tax Technology Services team, you will be responsible for:

ü Design and develop SAP workflows using SAP Business Workflow and related workflow technologies.

ü Configure workflow templates, tasks, events, agents, rules, approvals, deadlines, and notifications.

ü Analyze workflow failures, work items, agent assignment issues, deadline monitoring, and stuck processes.

Tax Technology Consulting (TTC) – Deloitte’s Tax Technology Consulting Team (TTC) has a market leading reputation; bringing together a unique blend of consulting, technology, tax technical and tax reporting experience to help businesses meet the challenges of multi-jurisdictional tax operations, including compliance, reporting, tax technology and tax risk management.

Within TTC, sits our Tax ERP Value Proposition, with a fast-growing team and a super-growth ambition. We are undertaking an unprecedented wave of ERP implementations, and these require specialist Tax Technology and Systems knowledge as a blended hybrid skillset. This proposition is uniquely positioned to be a key differentiator for the firm-wide ERP-enabled business transformation practice across EMEA. As a Tax-focused ERP consultant, you will have plenty of opportunities to work on large-scale ERP and Tax Technology projects as part of complex business transformations. You'll work with a wide range of colleagues and clients, exposing you to cutting edge tax technology work in a strategic, commercial and business context. Qualification & Experience Required:

ü Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

ü 2-5 years of experience in SAP or SAP S/4HANA development

ü Hands-on experience with ABAP in SAP S/4HANA or ABAP on HANA environments

ü Experience with Core Data Services (CDS) views, annotations, or associations

ü Experience exposing or supporting OData services in SAP environments

ü Experience in configuring workflow templates, tasks, events, agents, rules, approvals, deadlines, and notifications.

Preferred:

ü Experience with HANA-optimized development practices, including SQL or CDS pushdown and query performance optimization

ü Experience with modern ABAP development practices, including object-oriented ABAP and exception handling

ü Experience working in Agile delivery environments

ü SAP certifications in ABAP for S/4HANA, RAP, or SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)

ü Experience with SAP tax touchpoints or tax-related SAP process design
