The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Project Engineering Professional to join our dynamic team. This role involves leading and contributing to complex engineering projects, ensuring their successful execution from conception through to completion, and upholding the highest standards of quality and efficiency in the energy sector.Project Engineering focuses on designing, communicating, and implementing an operational plan for completing an engineering-based project including: Preparing designs, project controls and specifications, schedules, cost estimates, production, transportation, installation, testing and/or commissioning of new infrastructure, facilities, equipment, etc. Monitoring progress and performance against the project plan; taking action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays. Identifying, developing, and gathering the resources necessary to complete the project. May include preparing engineering standards, designs and work specifications; developing project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors An Experienced Professional (P2) applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. May require the following proficiency: Works independently with general supervision. Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex. May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Lead and manage the technical aspects of engineering projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Develop and review engineering designs, specifications, and technical documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, procurement, and sales to ensure seamless project integration and execution.
  • Conduct technical risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve complex engineering challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members.
  • Interface directly with clients and stakeholders to understand their requirements, provide technical solutions, and manage expectations.
  • Oversee the testing, commissioning, and handover phases of projects, ensuring operational readiness and client satisfaction.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in project engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Prepare and present detailed technical reports, project updates, and progress reviews to management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all project activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. A Masters degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in project engineering within the energy sector, preferably with experience in power transmission, distribution, or renewable energy projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex engineering projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., PMP certification is a strong advantage).
  • Expertise in relevant engineering software and tools (e.g., CAD, simulation software, project planning tools).
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations pertinent to the energy sector (e.g., IEEE, IEC, IS).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience in mentoring and developing technical talent.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project meetings, site visits, and client engagements.
