Shift Engineer - Maintenance

Objectives of the Position

This Maintenance- Shift Engineer role in Maintenance team, will support the Maintenance Fucntion in Shift operations for attending Breakdowns / Preventive Maintenance at site.

Main Tasks

• Should be working in 3-shifts(rotation) as Shift Lead and keep the machines up and running.
• To improve and maintain the OSF, MTBF & MTTR of all the equipment’s.
• Support plant maintenance by co-ordinating, debugging, and resolving breakdowns.
• Knowledge in SAP (Raising Pick List for Materials, PR creation, Notification Closing, PM & MM Modules)
• Technical expertise in functioning of equipment’s like Electrical Circuits, Basic PLC (Siemens), Vision (Cognex, IFM), Robot (ABB, Kuka) and Servo System (Siemens), Sensors, Motors, Conveyor systems
• Technical knowledge related to Electrical Circuits, Conveyors, Gear Boxes and Motors, Pumps, Pneumatic Systems, Sensors, Relays, Contactors, Protecting Devices, Solenoid Valves, Vacuum System, Burners etc.
• Sound Knowledge in Electrical Trouble Shootings and Circuit Reading
• Understanding and work experience on Utilities like Compressors, DG, Chiller unit, LPG and Power Distribution system
• Responsible for day-to-day activities in Maintenance function like, Breakdown, preventive, predictive Maintenance
• Manpower Handling in shifts
• To work smoothly with Cross functional team and ensure departmental and site targets are met
• Monitor the use and inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies and initiate re-ordering when necessary and reduce maintenance cost.
• Knowledge of Work permit system, Knowledge in Industrial Safe Practices, EHS and 5S will be added advantage.
• To implement KAIZENS in various equipment’s and record all improvements done (Maintenance related)
• Knowledge in Plant Utilities like Compressors, DG & Chillers
• Execute improvement projects/activities at site. To identify new areas for import substitution with regards to spares of site equipment’s to control the R&M cost.
• Ensure proper RCA/project documentations and SOPs. To conduct Root cause analysis for recurring phenomena and implement CAPA for all the controls and automation failures.
• Participating in PMs and get the operation activities done with internal or vendor supports.
• Contribute to change discussions (provide technical arguments)
• Ensure and reinforce Clean and Safe Work environment by following the best practices of 3C & 5S.
• Accountability for the effectiveness of the QMS / ISO / IATF implementation.
• Safety - Collaborate to achieve the target of Zero Accident in the site set by the company by identifying the potential hazards in the site and eliminating them, to carry out risk analysis for the activities performed / locations where the activities are performed and take appropriate countermeasures for the high risk and medium risk activities / locations, to continuously watch the shop floor and identify the near misses and hits and correct the situation before any accident occurs.

• Knowledge in Electrical and Automation Maintenance
• Electrical Circuits, Conveyors, Gear Boxes and Motors, Pumps, Pneumatic Systems, Sensors, Relays, Contactors, Protecting Devices, Solenoid Valves, Vacuum System, Burners etc
• Printers (Ink & Label).
• Troubleshooting Knowledge in PLC (Siemens), Vision (Cognex, IFM), Robot (ABB, Kuka) and Servo System (Siemens)
• Electrical & Pneumatics Operated Machines
• Hands on Experience on SPM’s
• Knowledge of problem-solving methods like 5Why, 8D, RCA, FMEA.
• Exposure in working with statuary requirements
• Exposure of implementation of Preventive / Predictive / TBM
• Having experience with various suppliers including global vendors
