Deputy Manager - Strategic Sourcing

Your Main Responsibilities

Objectives of the function :

  • Ensure functioning in synchronization with function as well as organization objectives for arranging Logistics, non-production material & services in time for KW/KG & PAN India
  • Ensuring optimal supplier performance, price & cost out/avoidance performance.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships management to deliver continuous improvement in delivery of goods and services by the supply base


Responsibilities :

  • Define & Compliance Process: Prepare Logistics Procurement process, work instructions, RACI Matrix, Formats & Comply same for introduction of logistics partners/Contracts renewal/closure
  • Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation: Leading RFQ/RFP processes for various logistics services (sea, air, road freight, courier, customs brokerage, etc.), negotiating annual contracts, and managing global/local supplier relationships.
  • Cost Management & Analysis: Identifying and leading cost improvement projects, performing spend analysis, managing budgets, and reporting monthly MIS/dashboards related to cost savings (Cost out).
  • Operational Procurement & Compliance: Managing the entire procurement cycle from contract to PO release and payment and ensuring compliance with international trade terms like Incoterms, FCL, LCL, CBM calculation etc.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Working closely with internal teams (CFT, operational teams, global category teams) on efficiency improvements, sustainability initiatives, and strategic alignment.
  • System Management: Utilizing procurement systems like SAP/Ariba/Contract to update pricing and manage purchase orders.
  • Packaging Expertise: Knowledge of local and import packaging concepts and sustainable material selection (corrugation, wood, plastic wraps)

  • Create, input, raise & approve price requests in SAP (ERP/ARIBA) system
  • Supplier Escalation/De-escalation based on supplier performance
  • Supplier Share of Business decision
  • Change implementation decision based on cost wrt to Business case
  • Cost saving Projects Business case
  • Logistics coordinator from procurement


What You Bring

Education :

  • Graduate in Engineering/Commerce
  • Post Graduate qualifications in Supply chain Management/Logistics Management (preferred)


Professional skills :

  • The ability to analyze large datasets, market trends, and financial reports to identify cost savings, optimize processes, forecast demand, and make data driven decisions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the entire supply chain, transportation management, demand planning, and reverse logistics
  • Expertise in relevant software and systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), e-procurement tools, and data analytics software.
  • Understanding and ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, international trade laws (Incoterms® rules), and customs requirements.


Professional experience :

  • 15 years of overall Logistics & non-production material procurement experience in manufacturing/engineering/automobile/E & E industry will be preferred.
  • Quick thinking and resourcefulness to handle unforeseen issues, disruptions, and rapid changes in market conditions. Should have knowledge of spend management/SAP Ariba
  • The capacity to see the big picture, anticipate future needs and trends, and develop long-term strategies that align with overall business objectives.
  • Meticulousness is vital for managing contracts, documentation, and data accuracy, while strong time management ensures deadlines are met in a fast paced environment.


Standard Awareness :

  • Occupational Health, Safety, environment, Quality & Energy Management policy awareness
  • ISO 14001,45001, 9001 & ISO 50001 EnMS standard awareness


Languages : Marathi, English, Hindi

IT : MS Office/SAP Ariba
