Quality in Process Sr. Engineer/Asst. Manager – Power Transformer

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process quality checks during all major transformer production stages including core assembly, coil assembly, VPD, retightening, tanking, vacuuming, and oil processing.
• Develop and implement quality checkpoints and inspection criteria at various manufacturing steps to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
• Monitor and audit manufacturing processes to identify deviations and drive corrective actions, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain documentation of inspections, findings, and process changes according to ISO9001 and other relevant quality management systems.
• Support teams in optimizing standard operating procedures and expand best practices across shifts and divisions.
• Coordinate with production, design, and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve in-process quality issues.
• Train manufacturing staff in in-process quality control methods and in using inspection equipment.
• Participate in regular quality audits, supplier assessments, and contribute to supplier development as required.
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in transformer or heavy electrical equipment manufacturing, preferably with direct in-process quality assurance exposure.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, IEEE, IEC, and other transformer-specific standards.
• Strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills for process troubleshooting and improvement.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to document and present findings clearly.
• Experience in quality systems, documentation control, and continuous improvement methodologies.
