Speciality Chemicals : The Specialty Chemical business of Jubilant Ingrevia manufactures Pyridine, Picolines and its forward integration derivatives, which finds application in agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, dyes, solvents, metal finishes, fine chemicals, semiconductors etc.

We have also launched new platform of Diketene & its value-added derivatives for multiple industry use. We are an established ‘partner of choice’ in CDMO, with more investment plans in GMP & Non-GMP multi-product facilities for Pharma, Agro and Semi-conductor customers.

Job Summary

The Deputy Manager Design & Engineering will be responsible for leading and managing design and engineering projects from concept to completion. This role requires ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution

Key Responsibilities

• Project Management :
• Lead and manage design and engineering projects from concept to completion.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Design Development :
• Oversee the creation of detailed design plans, specifications, and documentation.
• Ensure designs meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
• Review and approve design changes and modifications.
• Team Leadership :
• Supervise and mentor a team of engineers and designers.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
• Technical Expertise :
• Provide technical guidance and support to the design and engineering team.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the design and engineering process.
• Client Interaction :
• Communicate with clients to understand their requirements and expectations.
• Present design concepts and solutions to clients for approval.
• Address client feedback and make necessary adjustments to designs.
• Quality Assurance :
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure high standards of design and engineering.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Address any quality issues promptly and effectively.
• Budget Management :
• Prepare and manage project budgets.
• Monitor expenses and ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented.
• Report on budget status and financial performance of projects.
• Regulatory Compliance :
• Ensure all design and engineering activities comply with relevant regulations and standards.
• Obtain necessary permits and approvals for projects.
• Debottlenecking Existing Plants & Capacity Enhancement :
• Identifying and resolving bottlenecks to improve plant efficiency and increase capacity.
• Standardization Across Sites :
• Implementing standardization in equipment specifications, P&IDs, and layout preparation across all sites.
• Evaluation of Technical Documents :
• Reviewing GA drawings, vendor documents, pipe rack details, and isometric drawings.
• Design Philosophy :
• Developing and maintaining the design philosophy for all unit operations across all sites
  
  
  

• Educational Background:
• Chemical Engineer with 10+ years of experience in batch plants.
• Graduated from premium institutes such as IIT or NIT.
• Knowledge Levels:
• General Awareness: Fundamental understanding of concepts.
• Working Knowledge: Broad job knowledge, capable of applying a full range of concepts and practices in day-to-day activities.
• Functional Expert: Certified expert with strong knowledge of concepts.
• Mastery: Subject matter expert with command over the subject/concepts.

• Proficient in verbal and written communication.
