Amazon Grocery Partnerships (GP) in partnership with Retail Business Services (RBS) is seeking talented Merchant Consultants to join our team, an initiative designed to enhance our merchant support model. The Merchant Consultant (MC) role represents an innovative approach to managing and growing our partnerships with merchants across global markets.

As a Merchant Consultant, you will drive operational excellence across multiple grocery partners by managing key performance metrics and delivering business support. This role combines elements of product management, category management, and marketing expertise to provide scalable, high-quality service to our merchant partners.

The ideal candidate will be customer-centric, analytical, and results-driven, with strong creative problem-solving abilities. You will work cross-functionally with Product Management, Category Management, and Marketing teams to optimize merchant performance and drive growth. This role requires effective collaboration with internal stakeholders while serving as a dedicated point of contact for assigned merchants, managing both operational tasks and strategic initiatives.

You Will Be Responsible For

Analyzing business data to drive merchant growth

Improving customer conversion rates

Stakeholder management through merchant connects

Enhancing merchant satisfaction

Managing critical inputs such as selection and catalog quality

Providing strategic guidance and operational support

Contributing to the development of standardized, scalable processes

Key job responsibilities

  • Success will be measured by the performance of your internal teams on input metrics and impact of merchants on creating great customer experience.
  • Partnering with Grocery Partnership Team to manage merchant relationships by championing the merchant needs at Amazon.
  • Build communication channels at all levels, set proper expectations, provide clear status communications, and manage towards a growth plan for merchants.
  • Build and execute on strategic account plan that delivers on key business opportunities and relevant KPIs for merchants and Amazon.
  • Work with internal Amazon teams to improve operational aspects of their business by providing great consumer experience.
  • Conduct dive deep analysis on the issues handled for merchants and develop recommendations and action plans based on data to improve merchant experience.
  • Provide thought leadership around planning, roadmaps and execution.
  • Establish long term partnerships with key merchant partners for the group of merchants handled.
  • Support the launch of new programs and features.
  • Conduct regular WBR, MBRs with the merchants highlight business metric performance and building action plans.
  • Metric influencing (ability to understand a metric and create realistic forecasts) Take calculated risks, and quick to react with new action plans

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in sales or account management
  • 2+ years of interacting with customers/stake holders experience
  • 1+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience in analyzing data to drive decisions
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (macros, pivots, lookups) at an advanced level
  • Experience working proactively and independently, meeting deadlines, and delivering on projects and tasks
  • Experience dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment
  • Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of data analytics with tools such as Tableau, SQL, Quick-sight
  • Experience leading process improvements
  • Knowledge of project management tools
  • Bachelors degree in full-time industry or military work, or experience working for Amazon or any Amazon subsidiary or affiliate
