About The Position
Chevron ENGINE has an exciting opportunity for a Voyage Manager to join the Subsea Marine, Civil & Shipping team. Reporting to the Manager, this role will be based in Chevron’s office in Bengaluru.
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages all assigned company’s Owned, Bareboat, Term and Voyage Charter vessels.
- Plans voyage of assigned vessels including cargoes, fuel management, agency nominations and operational considerations.
- Issue orders to vessels, brokers or direct to owners as appropriate giving full instructions and all pertinent information.
- Administer voyages in respect to terms and conditions of governing charter party. Initiates claims for cargo, vessel and commercial claims.
- Ensure compliance with company’s safety requirements and applicable laws and regulations.
- Coordinate with team members and customers to reduce cost and optimize voyage economics, while keeping customers advised of potential advantages.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other Voyage Managers, Charterers, Traders, and Analysts to ensure full optimization of all vessels in company’s fleet.

Preferred Qualifications
To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
- At least 1 year of shore-based work experience in a similar field (exempted for application from company’s fleet personnel)
- At least three years of sailing experience on tankers ( oil , chemical or gas carriers).
- Must possess a good understanding of charter parties and post fixture operations
- Must possess a broad understanding of industry organizations such as OCIMF/SIGTTO as well as practices, rules and various regulatory conventions, such as MARPOL, SOLAS, STCW etc. and how they apply to marine risk management assessments
- Demonstrated Safety Performance/Managing Safe Work -
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of co-workers, contractors, and internal and external customers
