General Summary

Under limited supervision, performs various purchasing assignments. Procures services, materials, and equipment necessary for the operation of the organization. Checks requisitions, contacts vendors, examines bids and initiates contracts. Exercises a good working knowledge of products, assets, services and sources to make purchases and implement contracts at prices consistent with quality and defined requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the procurement of indirect services with responsibility for leading the Supplier Selection Process (where required) and for negotiating contracts with suppliers where appropriate, in line with various company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all requirements and capabilities are considered before deciding to procure services from a particular vendor. Ensure that all procurements are based on competitive bids as submitted by qualified suppliers.
  • Ensure that all contracts are input to the contract database and are managed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain positive working relationship with supplier base as well as internal customers. Align and support the Functional strategy.
  • Negotiate contracts for Services needed inside the entire organization
  • Where applicable, refer to the Company’s “Schedule of Authority” in order to identify approved spending levels.

Skills Required

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or a Professional Purchasing Qualification
  • A minimum of 5 years of procurement or relevant experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of the procurement of Indirect Services.
  • Has experience in managing and executing Indirect Procurement Contracts.
  • Successfully demonstrated negotiation skills.
  • Well versed in cost/price analysis techniques.
  • ERP Experience (SAP preferred)
