Position Title: Application Engineer – Palantir and Tableau Developer

Scope Of Responsibility

As a key member of a global team, the Application engineer will leverage visualization and analytical skills to transform complex data into actionable insights. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports, enabling data-driven decision-making across clients Life Science business. This role requires a strong understanding of data visualization principles.

Purpose Of The Position

The purpose of this role is to create visually compelling and informative dashboards and reports that facilitate decision-making processes. You will work with various data sources, ensuring that visualizations are accurate, relevant, and aligned with business objectives. Collaboration with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders is essential to ensure that data is effectively represented and insights are actionable.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Palantir application/ Tableau, ensuring visualizations are user-friendly and aligned with business needs.
  • Collaborate with business users and data analysts to understand requirements and translate them into effective visual solutions.
  • Extract and manipulate data from various databases, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Participate in the end-to-end development process, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance of Tableau solutions.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform business strategies.
  • Document technical specifications and maintain high-quality documentation for Tableau dashboards and reports.
  • Provide support and training to end-users on Palantir/Tableau functionalities and best practices.
  • Stay updated on the latest Palantir/Tableau features and enhancements to continuously improve visualization practices.
  • Work in an Agile environment, participating in Scrum ceremonies and collaborating with Development teams.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science

Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in data visualization, application development with a focus on Palantir and Tableau development.
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting, preferably within a Life Science or healthcare context.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Palantir Foundry: Focus on designing and building interactive dashboards, user interfaces, and analytics tools within the Palantir platform using tools like Workshop, Contour, Quiver
  • Ontology Management: Collaborate on building and managing Ontology objects to create a semantic layer that enables effective reasoning over connected data.
  • Tableau: Proficient in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server, with a strong understanding of dashboard design principles and best practices.
  • Data Visualization: Familiarity with data visualization concepts, including the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Data Management: Understanding of data management practices, including data cleaning, transformation, and integration.
  • Programming: Hands on programming skills in Python, SQL, pyspark for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Collaboration Tools: Experience with collaboration tools such as JIRA or Confluence for project management and documentation.

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey insights and collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
