The products our portfolio include Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. Within Azure Data, the databases team builds and maintains Microsofts operational Database systems. We store and manage data in a structured way to enable multitude of applications across various industries. We are on a journey to enable developer friendly, mission-critical, AI enabled operational Databases across relational, non-relational and OSS offerings.

Azure Cosmos DB is Microsoft’s next generation globally distributed, elastic scale, multi-model cloud database service - designed to enable developers to build planet scale applications while providing single digit latency access. Azure Cosmos DB allows you to elastically scale both throughput and storage across any number of geographical regions with tunable consistency while providing blazing fast read /write performance, multi-model APIs with rich query capabilities, all backed by enterprise grade SLAs.

Responsibilities

We are looking for highly motivated and self-driven individuals who are passionate about developing high performance, low latency, infinitely scalable, complex frameworks/libraries/experiences covering Cosmos DB distributed protocols, to be used by customers across the globe in business-critical workloads. These workloads capture the needs of the hobbyist developer to the Fortune 500 companies.

We are looking for experienced software engineers with:  

Passion for building highly scalable systems.

Good problem-solving, scalable design and troubleshooting skills.

Self-starter, execute, finish and accountable for the feature, while maintaining a very high-quality bar

Ability to analyze and clearly articulate complex issues/abstractions and technologies understandably.

Willingness to learn and cooperate with team and ability to work independently.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or Mathematics or Physics or IT related technical discipline or in place of 5+ years of internship or 5+ years of industry software engineering experience
• Proficient in C++, C# or other high level languages
• 3+ years of experience in building and shipping production grade software or services
  
  

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

• Good design, implementation, testing and problem-solving skills with strong system sensibilities
• Good understanding on database, index implementation techniques
• Familiarity with backend development
• Familiarity with high performance open-source tools and frameworks
• Familiarity with multi-threading, synchronous and asynchronous programming
• Hands-on experience at shipping large-scale, commercial, online-software solutions
