Senior Software Engineer

Job Description Summary

As Senior Software Engineer for VNA, you will be responsible for contributing to end to end software development for Enterprise Imaging product.

Responsible for programing a component, feature and or feature set. Works independently as an expert and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across business. You will also contribute to design discussions.

Job Description

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math with a minimum of 8+ years of professional experience in Software Development
• Technical expertise in System Software Design, Data Structures and Software
  
  

Skills

• Experience developing Enterprise applications (.NET, C#)
• Experience with Databases such as MySQL, SQL Server.
• Experience with public cloud infrastructures such as AWS or Azure (Services: Compute, Storage, Database, Load Balance, Elastic Designs, Analytics, Web Services, Messaging)
• Expert understanding of functional and nonfunctional requirements
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills. A big part of this job is communicating effectively with other development, cross functional teams in a global environment
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  
  

Desired Characteristics

Technical Expertise:

• Expertise in design and development of cloud solutions.
• Good debugging and unit testing skills using a well-known and accepted unit testing framework
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools and CI/CT/CD processes
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions
• Experience with Analytics, Medical Imaging is a PLUS.
  
  

Business Acumen

• Have a good understanding of the underlying infrastructure needed to run a large distributed web application
• Has the ability to make basic technology comparison and decisions based on pros and cons
• Has read about competing technologies in the cloud space
• Demonstrates awareness about the different players in the cloud space

• Has the ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary
• Voices opinions and presents clear rationale. Uses data or factual evidence to influence decisions
