As part of this rapidly evolving team, you will tackle new challenges and contribute to impactful projects that redefine eBays logistics capabilities. You will be integral to building the next generation of shipping platforms at eBay, excited by the scale and complexity of global e-commerce logistics. This role reports to engineering management, focusing on designing and implementing advanced shipping and fulfillment solutions. You will be a key hands-on contributor, responsible for designing, building, and operating the highly scalable, resilient services that millions of our buyers and sellers rely on every day. Youll tackle challenging technical problems in logistics.

What You Will Accomplish

  • Drive the development of high-performance backend systems, ensuring reliability and smooth integration into eBay’s complex Shipping platform
  • Lead initiatives that drives shipping architectural vision and improve transaction efficiency, aiming to increase user satisfaction and system throughput
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce innovative payment features that expand eBay’s offerings and improve market competitiveness
  • Mentor and support engineering peers in adopting best technical practices and fostering a collaborative environment conducive to growth and excellence
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies that boost system performance and facilitate easier inter-operability with a fragmented global carrier network landscape


What You Will Bring

  • Proven experience in backend software development with expertise in logistics platform a plus
  • Proven ability in architecting and scaling backend systems to accommodate substantial user and transaction growth
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python, alongside knowledge of cloud computing and microservices architecture
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
  • Experience in managing tasks with the agile methodology and familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, with advanced technical projects handled independently
  • 15+ years of software development experience on large-scale, high-volume, technical systems in a microservice based architecture for cloud infrastructure
