About The Role

Responsive is looking for a product-minded Senior Software Engineer with strong technical leadership skills and a passion for architecting and building scalable, high-performance solutions. What You’ll Be Doing

• Architect and Design Solutions: Take ownership of designing, developing, and maintaining complex distributed systems, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Technical Leadership: Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and set best practices for software development.
• Performance Tuning and Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks, optimize system efficiency, and ensure low-latency query responses.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams, including product managers, frontend engineers, and UX designers, to deliver seamless and intuitive experiences.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in technologies, conducting research and experimentation to drive innovation. Lead discussions on adopting new technologies where applicable.
  
  

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  
  

• 5-8 years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm-related solutions using Java.
  
  

• Deep expertise in Java programming, Java design patterns, and high-performance server-side development.
• Strong architectural skills with the ability to design scalable, maintainable, and resilient software systems.
• Demonstrated versatility in multiple back-end technologies such as Spring, Microservices, MongoDB, etc.
• Experience leading technical initiatives such as refactoring, performance optimization, or major feature development.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native architecture and working with platforms such as GCP, Azure, or AWS, including cloud services for AI/ML, data storage, and processing.
• Advanced knowledge of search and retrieval technologies, including platforms like ElasticSearch, Apache Solr, or similar. Experience with AI-driven solutions, NLP, semantic search, and text processing techniques is a plus.
• Proficiency in Test Driven Development (TDD) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Scrum and JIRA experience is a plus.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, preferably in a SaaS or technology-driven company.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with experience handling production-level issues and performance tuning.
