The Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (Senior SDET) will join a team of highly passionate engineers who will be responsible for delivering of Data Analytics products as part of the Alteryx Analytics Cloud Product Suite.
Responsibilities
Analyse requirements and technical documentation to plan, develop and implement tests.
Create, execute, track and maintain manual and automated functional and regression test suites.
Develop and maintain testing frameworks and utilities as needed to support testing activities.
Lead the testing efforts within a project or team, often coordinating the activities of other SDETs and Developers.
Provide detailed problem analysis to the development teams and help them driving the product quality.
Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and other team activities to ensure the quality of the codebase.
Continuously improve testing processes, methodologies, and practices.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior SDETs.
Required Skills
5+ years of experience as a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test or Senior Software Quality Engineer.
Masters/Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field.
Extensive experience with API/UI test automation, preferably with frameworks such as PyTest, TestCafe.
Excellent designing and programming skills in any object oriented language like Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript.
Experience with testing REST APIs.
Experience with web-based application testing using multiple browsers in different platforms.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate successfully with both local and remote team members.
Valued/Preferred Skills
Experience using GIT or equivalent SCM.
Experience with applications and microservices hosted in AWS/Azure/GCP.
Experience with containerisation & orchestration technologies like Docker/Kubernetes.
Experience with GitOps and package manager tools like ArgoCD, Helm etc.
Experience in observability and application monitoring tools like Datadog.
Experience with Python, PyTest framework.
Knowledge of big data ecosystem, datawarehouse, ETL etc.
Experience with relational databases, unix/linux commands, shell scripting.
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum driven development environment.
