Job Summary

As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer I at LG Ad Solutions, you will lead quality initiatives across multiple projects and teams, helping to shape departmental testing strategies and quality processes. You will serve as a technical leader who influences architectural decisions and risk management approaches for complex, cross-functional initiatives. This role requires an experienced quality professional who can architect comprehensive testing solutions while mentoring others and driving continuous improvement across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead small projects ensuring quality while delegating work effectively and advancing team capabilities
• Develops tactical solutions to problems ensuring decisions are aligned with key strategies and supported by data, proactively evaluates impacts focusing on core problems and root cause; clears roadblocks and identifies a path forward
• Author and role model the creation of comprehensive test plans for product features and facilitate appropriate reviews and signoffs
• Create and role model the creation of thorough test cases with detailed steps aligned with test plans and according to documented standards; methodically executes test cases (API, functional, integration, system, E2E) and documents results
• Peer review test plans and test cases of more junior team members ensuring clarity of concepts and test coverage including tracing change impact across the System architecture
• Execute API tests using tools like Postman, SOAP UI, Rest-Assured, etc
• Develop and maintain efficient as well as extensible automated test scripts using industry-standard tools like Playwright, Selenium, UFT, TestNG, Cypress, etc
• Document defects with appropriate severity levels and detailed steps to reproduce as well as tracing each defect to a test case and updating test cases to include validation of the defect to ensure ongoing re-testing
• Prevent defect escapes with close to zero defects through thorough testing and quality advocacy
• Analyze and document defect root causes to prevent similar issues in future releases
• Assess requirements and work with Product Team to clarify to ensure each is unambiguous, testable and overall the requirements are complete as well as generate traceability matrices to ensure 100% test coverage
• Authors comprehensive and clear test summary results including metrics
• Consistently follow established QA processes and procedures
• Conduct detailed test artifact peer reviews and clearly explain feedback importance
• Mentor less experienced team members on testing methodologies and best practices
• Self-prioritize work activities and proactively informs Manager
• Provide accurate task estimates, meet all deadlines and communicate impediments in a timely manner
• Showcase ability to multi-task effectively across related items
• Provide regular status updates to management and project managers, adjusting detail level appropriate to the audience
• Identify and communicate risks, issues and opportunities (RIOs) including impact analysis and mitigation plans through appropriate channels
• Recommend improvements to standard operating procedures (SOPs), tools and metrics
• Champion appropriate and effective usage of test environments
• Demonstrate excellent teamwork and collaboration across project teams; prioritizing team goals over personal preferences. Defines success in terms of the whole team
• Anticipate needs and prevent problems across the Team
• Propose innovative ideas to improve testing processes and product quality
• Act with the End User in mind, soliciting first-hand Product and Business information for process improvements
• Actively seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and testing methodologies
• Gain proficiency in at least two LG Ads Products with SME status in at least one
  
  

Requirements

• 7+ years of Quality Assurance experience
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• Deep understanding of the SDLC, STLC and QA methodologies
• Demonstrated ability to lead small projects across multiple teams and coach junior QAEs
• Hands on experience authoring test plans, test cases as well as creating requirements and defect traceability matrices to test cases to ensure complete coverage
• Operational level experience with test management tools (such as ALM, Tosca, TestRail, etc) and project workflow tools (like Asana, JIRA, etc)
• Operational level experience developing and maintaining efficient as well as extensible automated test scripts using test automation tools (like Playwright, Selenium, UFT, TestNG, Cypress, etc) including creating stubs and test harnesses where necessary
• Understanding of basic test automation framework design principles and development techniques
• Ability to author complex SQL statements (such as joins)
• Experience reading and understanding development code (such as JavaScript, Python, C++, GoLang or Java)
• Experience with version control tools such as Git/GitLab/GitHub
• Proven ability to develop successful tactical solutions
• Knowledge of cross-browser and cross-platform testing strategies
• Operational level experience using API testing tools (like Postman, SOAP UI, REST-Assured, etc)
• Familiarity with test data management principles
• Ability to quickly comprehend technical concepts
• Ability to convey complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong presentation and leadership skills with experience leading meetings effectively
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify and address root causes
• Demonstrated ability to take direction and work independently yet provide status updates
• Inquisitive nature and quality-mindset with strong attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in digital advertising, media or related technology sectors
• Quality Assurance certification at advanced level (like CSQE, ISTQB Advanced, etc)
• Agile/Scrum methodology experience
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with data-driven, keyword-driven and/or hybrid test automation frameworks
• Experience with service virtualization concepts and tools
• Performance testing experience and familiarity with performance test tools (such as LoadRunner/Performance Center, JMeter, NeoLoad, Locust, etc)
