Role Summary

We are seeking a seasoned and pragmatic Senior Python Backend Developer to take architectural ownership of our next-generation, high-availability microservices for the HR Tech platform. You will play a pivotal role in the architectural direction of our core services, working within a dynamic team to drive significant digital transformations in the HR Tech space. This role is ideal for an experienced professional ready to lead technical initiatives and shape product delivery with a focus on performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and Develop: Lead the design and hands-on development of scalable, resilient, and high-performance backend services and APIs using Python, ensuring adherence to Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for latency and error rates.
• System Integration: Drive the integration strategy for RESTful APIs with complex frontend systems and critical third-party enterprise tools, focusing on seamless and secure data exchange.
• Technical Leadership: Champion engineering best practices through rigorous code reviews, architecture discussions, and actively mentor 1-2 mid-level engineers on software design patterns and system robustness.
• Optimization & Scaling: Proactively troubleshoot, debug, and optimize core service performance, with a goal to achieve a quantifiable reduction in P95 API latency across key platform services.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a key technical liaison, collaborating closely with DevOps engineers, QA teams, and frontend leads to ensure seamless end-to-end delivery of robust solutions.
• Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in our development processes, advocating for and implementing new technologies and methodologies to enhance efficiency and code quality.
  
  

• Core Proficiency: Mastery of Python 3.x is essential, including deep knowledge of language internals and performance optimization techniques.
• Frameworks: Extensive experience with modern Python web frameworks (Django, Flask, or FastAPI) and proven ability to choose the right tool for the specific problem.
• API Design: Expertise in designing, developing, and evolving robust, versioned RESTful APIs and an understanding of GraphQL or gRPC is a plus.
• Databases: Proficient in managing both SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.) with a strong command of ORM frameworks (Django ORM, SQLAlchemy) and advanced database tuning.
• Asynchronous Processing: Hands-on experience with message brokers and task queues (Celery, Redis, RabbitMQ) for building highly decoupled, distributed systems.
• DevOps & Cloud: Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and designing CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and managing cloud-native infrastructure.
• Testing: Strong commitment to quality, including expertise with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing frameworks (PyTest, Unittest).
• Methodology: Expertise with Git and Agile development methodologies, including participation in effective sprint planning and backlog grooming.
  
  

• Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical trade-offs to non-technical business stakeholders (Product, HR).
• Technical Consensus: Proven ability to lead and drive consensus on architectural decisions within a cross-functional engineering team.
• Ownership Mindset: Demonstrated ability to take end-to-end ownership, from concept and design to deployment, monitoring, and operational support.
• Agile Proficiency: Deep understanding and practical application of Agile/Scrum methodologies, contributing to effective sprint planning and estimation.
  
  

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field.
