Role Overview
Candidates must have experience in leading core banking development/maintenance teams with the ability to also code/test on demand. Troubleshoot / Debug problems to understand the root cause of issues and fix. Work effectively with the team to deliver squad level objectives, ensuring all KPIs are met.

Participating in technical analysis in collaboration with other architects and analysts.
Ability to quickly gather requirements, explore multiple approaches and suggest optimal solutions.
Provide technical solutions and estimates in a professional manner and to agreed timeframes.
Should be able to demonstrate good design skills and have at heart the fundamentals & patterns of good object-oriented development (using interfaces, decoupling, encapsulation).
Should be able to design and develop efficient technical solutions from the given functional specifications along with Coding, Unit testing for the new functionality.
Ability to navigate through a very large codebase.
Review program code produced by more junior Systems Engineers for quality, clarity and efficiency.
Deliver Application features as per release schedule and quality expectations.
Should be able to create high quality supporting documents like high level design, technical specification and knowledge documents.
Enhance efficiency of Dev/test/release process and continuous improvement of maintenance turnaround time.
Drive technology learning and provide mentorship to your teams.
Good understanding of the full SDLC and experience with SDLC Methodologies (Waterfall, Agile etc.).
Participate in the full life-cycle development process from Project initiation, through design, development, review, test, release and maintenance.
Training and mentoring skills for the team.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines.
Requirements/Skills
10+ years of experience in Java development with support / maintenance exposure
Experience in designing and developing scalable web-based applications
Good knowledge of JSON, XML and XPath
Technical skills
Java 8 (demonstrate appropriate use of streams and lambdas)
Spring 5
Hibernate 5
Spring Boot 2
Maven 3
Apache Wicket 8 (or demonstrate ability to quickly learn the ins and outs, especially the Model system & Ajax features)
Jenkins
Ruby (being at least able to write a basic script and understand ruby code)
Groovy (basic)
Javascript (via JQuery)
Junit 5, TestNG 4
SQL
Expertise in patch management, vulnerability mitigation, and framework version control
Basic understanding of Docker, Kubernetes would be an added advantage
Hands-on experience with monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Splunk, ELK, Dynatrace)
Excellent client-facing skills, teamwork, and interpersonal communication abilities
Should have strong debugging, RCA, and performance tuning skills at the framework level
Should have excellent team leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
