We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead Esko’s Cloud and AI engineering teams in Bangalore. This role will be at the center of Esko’s transformation journey — building the Esko’s Cloud Platform, driving AI-first capabilities into our product suite, and scaling modern cloud infrastructure and MLOps practices.

You will lead a team of highly skilled engineers, collaborate closely with Product Management, and work cross-functionally with teams across all sites to deliver the platform foundation and AI services that power Esko’s future. Role is Hybrid and its preferable to have incumbent based in Bangalore.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

Platform Engineering Leadership

• Lead the design, development, and operations of Esko’s Cloud Platform — a multi-tenant, API-first, secure and scalable foundation for Esko’s SaaS products.
• Oversee core services, identity & access, observability, DevOps tooling, and cloud infrastructure (Azure and AWS).
• Drive architectural modernization towards containerized, event-driven, and microservices-based systems.
  
  
  

AI Engineering & Enablement

• Build and scale the engineering foundation for AI services, working on projects such as semantic extraction, compliance intelligence, variant generation, and packaging knowledge graph.
• Partner with Product and Data Science to operationalize models — from prototype to production — using MLOps best practices.
• Ensure compliance with Esko’s Responsible AI and Data Governance principles.
  
  
  

Technical & People Leadership

• Lead a growing team of 15–20 engineers and tech leads across cloud, AI, and platform enablement domains.
• Recruit, coach, and develop talent to strengthen Esko’s engineering excellence in India — driving upskilling, mentoring, and career progression (P1–P4 level growth).
• Foster a culture of ownership, quality, and experimentation, balancing velocity with stability.
  
  
  

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner with Product Management, Architecture, Security, and R&D leadership to define the platform roadmap and align on AI priorities.
• Work closely with Esko’s product teams (WebCenter, Automation Engine, Comply, etc.) to ensure platform adoption and reuse.
• Act as the technical interface to key vendor and cloud partners (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, OpenAI).
  
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 15+ years of total experience, with at least 5+ years in technical leadership and engineering people management.
• Proven track record in building and scaling cloud-native platforms (Azure/AWS), preferably in SaaS or enterprise software.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, API management, and observability tooling.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML systems, data pipelines, LLM integration, and MLOps practices.
• Exposure to Responsible AI frameworks, security, and compliance in enterprise environments.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
