Our team consists of business strategists with deep technological acumen and strong functional knowledge. Our Strategy Consultants work with client and project teams to support global engagements from India, focusing on delivering impactful results. Their responsibilities include conducting analyses and developing insights, preparing analytical models, analyzing large data sets, and understanding how digital solutions can address client pain points. They capture current processes, prepare work plans, design to-be processes, work directly with client teams and facilitate meetings to enable decision making. Additionally, they organize and prepare recommendations on client issues and participate actively in new business development, thought leadership and firm building activities.

Competency Overview: Sustainability – Strategy & Operations

They provide guidance and support to organizations by managing sustainability risks, identifying opportunities, and driving positive social and environmental impact. As a sustainability generalist at PwC, you will utilize your skills and experience across environmental, social, governance (ESG) topics and sustainability more broadly. You will analyze client needs and provide consulting services across different areas in the sustainability lifecycle, including strategy, transformation, and reporting.

You are responsible for coaching, leveraging team member’s unique strengths, and managing performance to deliver on client expectations. With your growing knowledge of how business works, you play an important role in identifying opportunities that contribute to the success of our firm. Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Associate, youll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to address complex sustainability challenges from strategy to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this level include but are not limited to:

  • Manage project workstreams, ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables
  • Apply advanced data analysis using Excel, Alteryx and AI tools to generate insights and support decision-making.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to upskilling efforts across sustainability capability areas and tech enabled solutions.
  • Collaborate with leadership and clients to resolve issues, present findings, and support the implementation of strategic sustainability initiatives.
  • Uphold PwC’s code of conduct and quality standards while driving innovation

What skill does it take?

  • Advanced Data Analysis: Lead complex data analysis using Excel, Alteryx, and AI tools, to provide actionable insights that inform project strategies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Lead workstreams working closely with client, US, and AC stakeholders within projects to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables
  • Knowledge of Sustainability Framework: Possess knowledge of the GHG Protocol, GRI, TCFD, Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and other relevant frameworks.
  • Decarbonization and Net Zero Strategy: Demonstrate in-depth understanding of decarbonization strategies, energy management, greenhouse gas footprint analysis, renewable energy solutions, and regulatory frameworks related to greenhouse gas emissions reduction.
  • Experience in GHG Footprinting and Life Cycle Assessment is preferred
  • Knowledge of Product Sustainability including Product circularity, Packaging optimization, Product traceability and implications of tariffs and cross border regulations (e.g. CBAM)
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Sustainability including Responsible sourcing and Supplier Engagement is preferred
  • Research and Insights Development: Lead initiatives for identifying trends related to sustainability regulations (e.g., CSRD, CSDDD, EPR, etc.), market and competitive landscape, and sustainability enabling technologies.
  • Digital Transformation and Solution Design: Leverage AI and other tech enabled solutions to drive digital transformation initiatives and design solutions to enhance sustainability outcomes
  • Program Management: Partner with teams across functional and technical workstreams to effectively manage project delivery
  • Training and Mentorship: Mentor junior members in analysis techniques, tech enablement, fostering continuous learning
  • Thought Leadership: Contribute to thought leadership by analyzing trends that position PwC as a leader in sustainability consulting.

Qualifications

  • 4–8 years of experience in sustainability consulting or environmental analysis.
  • Masters degree in business, with a background in engineering and sustainability or environment-related domains will be preferred.
